Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Forge (“we”,“us”) collects when you use the Forge app and our website https://forgegoals.app, and what you can do about it. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, where applicable, the GDPR.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

  • Account data: your name, email address and profile picture.

  • Habit data: the goals, routines, check-ins and reflections you enter, your streaks and XP, and the AI-generated targets you receive.

  • Community data: squad chat messages and, if you turn it on, your name and XP on the leaderboard.

  • Purchase data: your subscription status and receipts. We never see your payment card details; Apple handles payment.

  • Technical data: device information, app version, IP address and crash reports.

Your reflections and goals are free text and may include sensitive information such as health. Please only enter what you are comfortable with. By entering it and using the AI features, you consent to its processing as described here. You can withdraw this consent at any time by deleting the content or your account.

3. How we use your information

To run and improve Forge: track your streaks, generate personalized AI targets, send reminders you have enabled, provide support, keep the app secure, and comply with the law. We rely on the contract with you, your consent (for example for push notifications, leaderboard visibility and sensitive content) and our legitimate interest in security and stability.

4. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with providers that help us run Forge:

  • Google Firebase: login, database and hosting of app data.

  • Google Gemini API: creates your AI targets and suggestions from your goals and answers. We use it under Google’s paid terms, under which your data is not used to train Google’s models.

  • RevenueCat and Apple: subscriptions and payments.

  • Crash reporting: our crash-reporting provider receives technical crash data (such as device model, operating system and app version) to help us fix errors.

Some of these providers process data outside Switzerland, for example in the USA. Such transfers rely on the Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses. Other users can see your squad messages (squad members only) and, if you enable it, your leaderboard entry. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.

5. Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app under Settings > Account > Delete Account, or by emailing contact@forgegoals.app. Your data is then removed from our systems within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription; cancel it separately in your Apple ID settings.

6. Cookies (website)

Our website is hosted by Framer, which may process technical data such as your IP address and browser type, and collect aggregated usage statistics, to deliver and secure the site. We do not use advertising cookies or marketing tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to give you access to your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or give you a copy. You can also withdraw any consent at any time. Email contact@forgegoals.app and we will reply within 30 days. You may also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or to the data protection authority in your country.

9. Children

Forge is for people aged 13 or older (or older where your country requires a higher age for consent). We do not knowingly collect data from younger children and will delete it if we learn of it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If we make important changes, we will tell you in the app or by email, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
